Can anyone help me identify this fish? I have a feeling that it may be a fahaka or mbu but I could be wrong.

Neither. That looks like a green spotted puffer.

But they have yellow eyes.. I just looked at them. This fish has bright red eyes and a big wide face, not like any gap I've owned its labelled as a 'faHaka'

Its a brown puffer Monotrete Turgidus

Semi lurker, enjoys lots of plants in tank min 20g. I would suggest about a 25-29g

Brown puffer has more and tighter spotting. Cross river looks close but they have a more slender build and little to no spotting on the belly.

Can any experts ID? I don't want to buy a brown puffer. fahaka, mbu or cross river is good for me though. I plan on putting the fish in a 120gal so if its a brown puffer it will be a waste of 30 bucks

let me post the pics here now i'm home
