Lowering aggression question

Didn't work for me on 2 different tanks.

Although, my one tank is at 72 degrees and houses both American and Africans, which I was advised against. Been at that temp for 2 years+...

Edit: I will note however, that recently the only 2 makes in there have been bullying all females. 1 male is American, the other an African. All females are African except one.

Temp has little to nothing to do with it. Overstocking is the best means. Proper m/f ratios, tank length, and the species that are selected are the main variables.
or adding target fish like silver dollars of tin foil bards ( if tank is big enough for these)

they're called both names, some people like me rather use the name target fish because some people think of dither fish as something to get shy fish out of hiding not as something to lower aggression

Ok, but they don't lower aggression, the aggression is just directed towards your target fish.
