Just noticed this yesterday. It looks like there is a wound (pinhole?)at the lower part of the outer eye. I cant tell if theres anything in there.

He seems to be able to see out of it.

Placed him in a 20 gallon qt and started maracyn2. Within hours he was laying on the bottom spasming. I immediately moved him into my 10 gallon shrimp tank where he almost immediately came around and is acting normal. I have raised the temp to 84* and added rock salt. Also did 50% wc today.

Any suggestions? Pray?

If it's only the one eye, then odds are he just scratched it on something like a piece of driftwood or rock. Dats flash sometimes (when they rub their bodies against objects). Keep the water warm, clean and salted and he'll be fine within a week.

Sounds more like an injury rather than cloudy eye, hopefully it will heal up.I try to keep my dat tanks as minimally decorated as possible.Mine tend to chase one another on occasion and some have injured their large eyes just by weaving their way through or past driftwood.

UPDATE: Day 4

The swelling has reduced and I can still see the injured area. Cloudiness has reduced also.

He has no appetite at all.. I put in his favorite frozen krill and he won't touch it. I wonder if now is a good time to try pellet training?

His eye is doing much better. Almost zero cloudiness and the swelling is gone. I expect to put him back in the display tank tomorrow.

Dont know if he's eating.. haven't seen cherry shrimp in a while :)

I was hoping he would be starving by now so i could offer pellets.

I'll try to get a pic later
