i just got a 300 gallon aquarium and it has a few minor scratches. only about two are even deep enough to be felt with your fingernail. i know there are ways to buff this out but i would like to know what you guys have used and what the best way to go about this would be.

Works great. On a 300G, I would recommending using an orbital buffer/buffing wheel unless you enjoy some serious manual labor.

If your heavier scratches are deep enough so that your fingernail easily catches, then you might need to start with some sandpaper (say 400 grit) and work your way up to 1,000, then start in the with Novus heavy scratch remover, then the fine scratch polish.

Buffing acrylic takes some work, but the results can be pretty awesome.

On the flip side, have you filled it up yet? A dry used acrylic tank always looks kinda bad, but once filled with water 99% of the imperfections that are visible when dry completely disappear when filled.
