Can be difficult to get eating pellets, still struggling with mine, but he's mouthing them, just not eating them so I know I'm close ... they have a very fast growth rate as well, if kept well fed, so any slow growing fish you have could become lunch in a few months, and they can eat very large prey ... all in all a docile monster though as long as the other fish cant fit into their mouth ... much less agressive than peacock bass, in my experience, but similar eating habits, and growth, however the perch has a much larger max size

I just got one of these the other day too, mine is 12" and has an absolutely huge appetite!! I put in 5 feeder fish the other day, all a good 4" and he smashed them very quickly, was already going for the next one whilst still had one in his mouth! usually I feed it prawns though and he gut loads them!
