hey guys i saw this arowana in a lfs today. thought it looked very nice. its about 5" and the price tag is $120. just wondering if it might be a platinum that just got mixed in with a batch of jardini. if it is then im going tonight to buy it but if its just some other type then is it still a good deal? heres a few pics and below is a video i took.

It is about average price for that size aro if not on the cheap side. Retail of that size averages $150-190. Online vendors generally will beat LFS price ranges but shipping will put it almost as high. 2+ years ago yeah that would be high, today's market low to average online.

The cheapest I've seen were extremely beautiful and flawless 8 inchers for 75 bucks. (they were 100 but 25% off).

Yep. Once they get over 5" they get stupid prices on wholesale. Here we can't even find them wholesale for less the $90 at that size. East coast has the same prices on them.

How long ago? 2 years ago I ran 8" fish for $100 and they sold out in 15mins. No joke now I'd sell out faster then that at that price.

2 years ago in a local pet store that get their fish from a large farm in Florida. Big Al's.

That pretty much sparked my SERIOUS fishkeeping hobby. too bad I only had a one day old uncycled 30 gallon tank back then. lol
i was so close in getting it.
