How do sumps collect the poop

As the title says how does the poop and other debri make it to the sump for collection when the over flow is at the top?

You can angle a powerhead in the direction of the overflow

You can just leave it until you just gravel vac it out lol..

create more flow in the tank so that there are no dead spots. I never have to vac poop

If you see poop collecting in a certain spot in the tank, point a power head there.
