Somebody who I play basketball with has a friend with a fish tank who is moving. The guy was going to flush his fish so my friend told me I should go see what he had. I set my tank up but only had a week to let is cycle. I added Dr. Tim's instant cycle. I know this isn't optimal but it is what it is.

Tank: 55 gallon
Lighting:2 24" flourecent tubes.
Salt: Half instant ocean normal salt. Half instant ocean reef crystals. Specific gravity 1.025
Rock: Tons of live rock has to be over 50 pounds.
Filter: Hang on back filter with live rock rubble.
Powerhead: I forgot the brand but it was about 1000 gallons per hour.
Substrate: 20 pounds of sand.
Inhabitants: Snoflake eel (~7 years old)
Sea cucumbers
Green mushroom coral
Long green Algae

Questions:

1) Do you think there is two much current in the tank? In the video the powerhead is on the right side of he tank. The algae is getting moved by the water bouncing off the glass? It is moving in the direction of the powerhead.
2) Is there enough room for the eel to get through the rock structures?
3) Do you think I need any special lighting?

I appreciate everyones help and hope you check on the thread often to help me keep this tank in good condition.

I went to feed him shrimp last night. I dropped the first piece behind the rock structure and couldn't get it or even see it. I saw him eat the second shrimp. When I looked in the fish tank in the morning I saw a shrimp at the front of the tank. I am not sure if he ate anything. I didn't take the shell off so the could of been an issue. I will try again later.
