I am considering to buy one of those solar systems however they are too expensive, I'd have to pay about 4000 bucks fore one of them in my neck of the woods, the good part of it is that I wouldnt have to pay a power bill anymore.

Like the title states just wondering has anybody went the solar route to offset electricity costs? If so descriptions and costs if you don't mind. Thanks in advance.
I am thinking about building a 300 Watt/12V. system to run my system. @ $1500
My initial thoughts were for an emergecy power system because of the frequent storms and power outages.
There is worked involved in doing this, but I consider it as a Project. The advantage is it isn't noisy like some 'emergency generators' and you don't need to run to the gas station to keep it running.
See link below for the system I am thinking about.
Note.... you can always add on to these units to increase your Wattage needs !
