We'll I have play sand now. I have eels and they dig alot so sand flies up into my filter. I'm going to get a 59 pound bag of PFS today. How should I clean it, and can I put it in right after I clean it and keep fish in other tanks or what?

A good rinse and you can put it in, it is selected to be inert, and meant to be backwashed, which helps keep it out of filter machinery. It is also used as filter sand in drinking water purification plants, which should tell something about its condition of use.
When I rinse it, I use my siphon from the tank using old tank water to rinse, and thereby doing a water change at the same time, killing 2 birds with 1 stone,so to speak.

Just clean it like any other sand. Its very clean as it is but still needs cleaning. It took me 20-30 mins to clean it. You can leave the fish in the tank when you put the sand. Just turn off your filters first.
