Should I clean the mechanical filtration weekly?

Should i do this to maintain extra good water quality? I only clean the eheim 2213 canister filter monthly and was wondering if i should clean the mechanical media weekly and bio media monthly?

Probably no need to, unless you are very heavily stocked and flow is slowing down that quickly. I clean my canisters monthly (well thats the idea) even then i will clean the mech and try not to disturb the bio unless it is proper filthy- if your mech is doing its job then it shouldnt be...
