Why hasn't someone crossbred Red Asian arowanas with Australians to produce a Red Australian Arowana. Since we can't have Red Asian why not produce a Red Australian.

It can be done Asian and Australian are both Scleropages species. There producing so many color varieties of Formosus seems they should cross that color gene into Leichardti or Jardini
My guess is, it would require milking and mixing. The asian breeders seem pretty good at that. It would be interesting but I wonder if it would be legal to bring into the US.
Exactly, if a species is illegal why would a hybrid of that species be legal?
Can it? I'd love to see some sort of evidence if it has been done.
