Hi,

Im going to buy another 2260, purely for bio.

I will have 3l of Eheim Mech Pro in the bottom, but i was wondering what to fill the rest with?

Marine pure Balls
Eheim Substrate Pro or Aquaclay
Ceramic Noodles
Seachem Matrix

Which of these will give the best flow and bio filtration

Looking for real world experience

I use seachem matrix in a few filters.I think it works well, doesn't seem to clog.

Yeah I'm just worried that it is so closely locking it will slow the flow

I'm using both and didn't notice any difference, just the price...

I have 4L of regular matrix, 4L of pond matrix, and 8L of subtrat pro in my 2262. I have no complaints.

So you have no mechanical before the bio media?

Doesn't the bio media get clogged?

Is the purigen in a bag or free?

No mec. I'm running an fx5 strictly for mec. 2262 is for bio. I find it to be a great combo. It's not clogging at all, no change in the flow rate. I just did a 6 month cleaning on it and it didn't look that bad. Just had a lot of sand in the canister. Considering how much my petros excrete poo.

I have the purigen in a bag called the bag from seachem.
