Hey I really am thinking about getting a large group of lepidio elongatus. How interactive are they? Like do they beg for food? They don't seem very active they just float in one spot.

My adult spawning pair will come up front for food, but they are not gregariously tame like oscars.
They are lurk and strike predators, that sit and wait, and do a lightning strike when prey comes near.
I've been able to keep them with other large, dissimilar looking cichlids without aggression problems.

The pair are now alone in a 75 gal, small fish like tetras quickly disappear.

and my fry are growing out in a 55 with Herichthys bartoni, and some others with young Ctenochromis horei.
