Building first pond

I started building my first pond. This took me about 8 hours to do so far. I need ideas for landscaping around it, shrubs, rocks, mulch etc. I basically made it a 15'x9x3 with a shelf on the left side.

I want to build up behind the channel area I made, to make a waterfall flow down the channel, in to the pond. Should I build it up with dirt and then add rocks etc or make it all out of rocks?

As far as the outside of the pond, the 12x12 pavers are just to hold the pond liner down for now. I want to use rocks/mulch or something around it to make it look pretty nice and more natural. Ideas are welcomed...

I used to live there and I have family there, near wheaton and off of 29. I am a little north of Baltimore.

Got some huge rocks to start building the waterfall today. I need to figure out how I can hide the pump and have the hose go in to the rocks to be hidden.

Waterfall is coming along nicely. Also, added river rocks today to the stream area.

Building a "dock" around the pond. Composite decking is going to go on top of this. It's getting there.

I'll cut the liner after everything is done so it's nice and clean and you won't see anything but the dock/flowers.
