Normally that's true but I know there are plenty of people who have royals coexisting with rays.

Thats not the only reason, I have seen cases where Stingrays kill Plecos, and believe me its not pretty. Stingrays are usually quite peaceful with other larger fish but can get in fights with smaller fish that it thinks is food

Go for it you only live once! you can always take it out if problems occur. then you can tell us if its a good idea or not. i have always kept all kinds of plecos with my rays over the years and have never had a problem.

hmmm let me rethink about adding it.. but currently i have 1 pelco in the tank.. just normal black pelco...
