I'm thinking about starting my very first saltwater tank and need some help. The tank i plan to use is 30gal 30x15x15. I live in the Caribbean so the sea is always nearby.
So I'm thinking a FOWLR setup and plan to obtain my saltwater, coral and sand straight from the sea. Fishes will be wild caught also.
Here are my questions:
Live rock: How do i go about prepping this for use if it is directly harvested from the sea.
Live sand: Same question as for live rock.
Filtration: Do i need additional filtration or the live rock will do all the filtering.
Lighting: Do i need any special lighting?
Protein Skimmer: Do i need one and what does it do?
Cycling: What's the best way do cycle the tank?
