hi,

I'm building a large, closed recirculating (live reef) system and getting concerned about water flow rates, anyone with experience here feel free to chime in!

Looking at 4" pvc drains from main tank into a multiple sump system of interconnected 250gallon tubs. Connecting the sumps with 3" pvc with flow rates up to 130 gpm. I'm using this chart from online for flow rates through pipe:

Wanted to check out the accuracy of this chart against your experiences here.

Also any weird hydrological effects I'm going to discover that would be wise to plan ahead for...like air bubble elimination. I'm thinking of how to make a final baffle system before the pump intake to eliminate these without restricting flow and the possible use of filter material to aid in this like matala and sponge.

Ideas, tips, and advice are all greatly appreciated!! Or links to such knowledge....I like diagrams- visual learner here :) Would be stoked to see pics of similair systems you've built!

Thank you!
