I recently purchaces a set of Current Satellite+ LED lights for my new tank, and I couldn't be happier with them. There seems to be more and more people using them so I thought it would be nice to see the end results posted here.

Here's my tank, I've got two 48" and two 36" units and I did a bit of DIY to mount them on the aluminium C-channel to raise them up off the tank to get a better spread over the 1200mm width (may have voided the warranty by opening the ends up, whoops!).

I'm still experimenting with the different colours, haven't quite made my mind up about how brightly lit I want the tank for daily running, but being able to tweak the lighting at the touch of a button is very cool. Really looking forward to the Ramp Timers too.

Cool system david and at a great price.. i was going for something like that on my new setup but decided to go with t5 instead.. got it for free (10x36w) and our prices here are usually 3x higher and if you order something you never really know what you get..

Like the tank! Amazing setup!

Lights look great David! Any chance we could get a few pics of different lighting settings as well of close ups of the lighting on your geo's? Please and thanks

ettfettbranamn I can relate to that, living on the other side of the world from the US makes things like this rather expensive by the time you pay for shipping. I considered T5's (and if they were free I would have used them too!) but in the long run with the power savings and long life I think these were the best option.

Sean, I tried doing that (there's pics on my build thread) but I think I need a bit more practice with the camera to capture the difference in the colour modes. The extremes are obvious, but compared to in-person the pictures didn't really do it justice.

Here's a FTS with the old (and I mean really old!) T8's vs the Satellite+

Before:

After:

The T8's were certainly more washed out and white looking, with the LEDs you can see the ever-so-slight tannin colour in the water, and the fish certainly look better. Shame my photography isn't really up to the task of showing it off.

Geos before:

Geos after:

They actually look a little less-blue (although if I increase the blue on the LEDs that could change, but I prefer a more "natural" colour), but overall much better coloured and better illuminated too.

I got mine yesterday! Its kickass! And even with a expensive shipping its still cheap compared to buying from Swedish companys!

Nothing beats the price of "free" though.

I would really like to know how much the controllers Will cost...

For me personally, i'm more curious to see how long these LED lights will last... although i guess not many people are probably using them on High-Tech planted tanks atm on this forum?
