I have a 240 gallon tank, when I turn off the power the return pipe begins priming and returns water back to my sump. The return pipe are position low enough where it can return enough water back into my sump and cause flooding. How do I prevent this from happening. FYI - I can not move my return pipe higher up on the tank. Its in a fixed position.

Drill a hole an inch or 2 below the return heads on the pipe. This will act as a siphon break and allow air into the return side. What kind of intake are you running? Durso?

thanks, strollo, I have a straight pipe as intake. About to switch to a durso. How big of a hole do i need to drill. This a 1-inch return PVC pipe.
