My tank sits up against an outside wall on the first floor of the house. I was thinking of putting a ultima 2 filter, pump and uv outside against the wall of the houst and plumb it into my aquarium. I would then build a shed around the filter area. Thinking of doing this since i dont like to hear the noise of the pumps. How does this idea sound?

Sounds like what is done with split unit air conditioners. The only thing I would worry about is the temperature loss in the winter. Depending on where you live insulating the plumbing and shed well may be OK but if your nights get cold like ours, there is no way the heater would keep up.

I wouldnt think air temp would change water temp that quickly? It is not like it is in the filter that long. I would build the shed real small to cover it up and insulated. Wouldnt the water temp keep it warm in there

It'll be fine. Just insulate the shed.
