Re plumbing FX5

I have a fluval FX5 that I would like to replace the hoses on and make a more permanent setup with pvc piping. Having never done this before what is the best way to seal the joints on the pvc that won't be toxic to a fish and is all pvc fish safe? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Oatey (or any other potable water) pvc primer and glue 2 pack found at pretty much any home improvement store. Put it on, let it dry and fill her up ;)
