I've been fighting a beard algae problem in my 150 - this stuff is hard to remove! I bought a metal scraper & was really hesitant to use it - I thought it might scratch the glass - but it works great. The beard algae is all off my glass, but is really stuck on my glass eheim jagr heaters. Can I remove them from my tank & soak them in something to get the algae off? I was thinking hydrogen peroxide.

Will this work? Any other ideas? Its tough to scrape the glass cylinder of the heater & I don't want to mess up my temp settings.

Thanks for the tips. I think I'll have to use both options actually. This stuff is crazy hard to remove once it gets a foothold.
