I was driving around to different LFS within a hundred miles the other day just to see what everybody had. Came across one store that claimed to have a few alligator gars. I bought one as I have been searching for some time for an alligator gar. When I got home and hopped on the board I saw it is more common to find a Florida Gar. If he is indeed a Florida Gar I'd like to return him. Fish store owner swears it is a real gator gar but offered to take him back no later than wednesday if I change my mind. Can you guys let me know what I have?

I posted in the gar identification thread but received no bites yet and it is sort of urgent. Thanks in advance guys.

I'm not expert but in my opinion:

It's not a gator and doesn't look very much like a Florida.

It's definitely a true gar however and even though it seems a little different my money is on a Florida.

it is a Florida gar, Spotted gar is even less likely to be see in LFS than Gator.
