Nice to see a long-term moray, I'm sure it's enjoying its home! What are the other eels you have?
Just these 2 or 3 if you include the one I put at my dads. Once I get a bigger tank I want to get a fanged tooth moray and a green moray.
Nice morays, I love that chain link
Thanks I always wanted one. When I saw him I knew I was going to walkout of the store with him. I go to the gym at 5am and he was swimming all over the tank. I know its only been one day but he seems like he is more active then the snowflake.
Nice moray! It must be nice being able to keep other eels with yours. I've got a fimbriated moray that needs to be by herself cuz she attacks and kills everything!
What kinda sharks do your parents keep? A 450 seems kinda small for even the smallest species.
That's a awesome eel. Do you have any pictures? I have them in my reef tank for now, do I am only buying the less aggressive and pebble toothed eels.
My parents have a banded bamboo and a horn shark. The tank is a little small for their lifetime but it will last for at least a couple more years. the dimensions are 8.5feet long, 5 feet wide and 1.5 feet tall.
How did you prevent the big moray from going carpet surfing?
I just used a lid. It was one of the older plastic lids with an acrylic strip for the light. The only time it jumped out was when I was moving it to my parents house. I put the eel in a paint bucket and put serein wrap on top to try to keep it for escaping. A few seconds later it jumped out. When I went to pick him up from the ground he bit me. It hurt and he drew blood, but it wasn't that bad. It stopped bleeding in with a few minutes.
