I just started feeding my monsters tilapia, smelt, and shrimp. But im having trouble preparing the food. I thaw the food completely then gut the smelt and wash them off. But im worried that they are sucking up the tap water along with chlorine. So i let it completely dry off and then rinse it with water from my tank. But is all this necessary? How have you guys been preparing your foods? What i am concerned about is specifically the chlorine.

You could use a bowl of tank water to give a final rinse before feeding.

Or you could feed the fish whole if possible.
THose guts etc are good for the monsters.

Or as stated...use tank water to rinse and clean.

I'm gonna agree with gangster that whole fish is best since the guts add trace nutrients the fish need.

Feed the guts. I don't think they are getting enough chlorine to worry about it.
