Looking at a new Dat

Hey guys and gals,
been way to long since i have been on here, i have recently lost my Fahaka Puffer, he was 4 and went on a massive hunger strike and never recovered, we had named him Achmed, if anyone watch Juff Dunham they would get why....anyhoo..sad day around the house this last week, so now i have a 180g with nothing in it except some snails that he never ate...looking at the Gold Dat for a fish, in your experiences do they Thrive better as a single specimen are do the thrive better with some other fish, say some barbs and such, i really like single fish tanks lets the fish shine better...any thoughts would be great...

i was reading one post that some one has a leopard fish in with his...that seems to work ehh?....i do have one in my other tank i could put in he is about 4 inches right now...
