Has anyone had problems with plecs damaging there rays ? Reason why I ask my lfs has had probs with a big royal plec trying to suck the rays to bits
I've got a big albino plec but ive put him in another tank because I was worried about the same thing happening to my ray

plecos and scaleless fish are generally not good together. the same warnings goes for bichirs and plecos. plecos apparently do not mix well with them cause of their slime coat and they are at the bottom so they are easy prey. my pleco is 18 inches and with 5 different bichirs and scaleless fish. I think as long as the pleco is fed well it should not be a problem. this is from my own experience. But your pleco may not be as nice as mine. and the problem with having the pleco constantly fed is that the amount of poop plecos make its 50x more than a normal fish.
He's been in with a birchir already but I just dont trust him with this ray , just dont want to make a massive error as im a nooob to rays think I might just keep them apart not worth the risk
thanks for the advise I might give it a go once the rays grown up a bit (that is if I ever have the bottle too that royal at lfs made a bad mess of the two rays)
thanks , the pacu and my big jag have totally ignored him so far suppose there used to having cats under them , the pacu and the jag are fighting like mad though now my jardinis gone , so I think he's going to my mates 8x2x2 with two other pacu , and i might put a couple of cichlids out of my growout in to keep the jag busy , keep the attention off the ray
