Back in the summer I bought 7 F1 Mwela that was about 1 inch. I have them in a 55 gallon tank and since I have added 8 young adult gold ocellatus. (lots of shells) All gets along great. Just wondering if that tank size will be fine for the long haul on these fish. I don't have any other fish in the tank except for a serpae tetra. thanks

they say your ratio should be one gallon for every full grown inch of fish. example. 17in full grown fish should have at least a 17Gallon tank.

Plenty big. A 30 gallon long would be ok and even a 29 gallon given some experience. That is if you plan to keep one pair after they start getting frisky. Create a rocky habitat on one end for the Alto's and a shell bed on the other for the occies and they should really thrive. You could add some Cyps (non-jumbo) or better yet Paracyps if you wished.
