Id me please!!!

Got this guy as a throw in with a tank I got off craigslist for all my fry. The guy said there was two fish in there but the water was so dirty I couldn't see anything. He wasn't running the filters he said because " they are getting plenty of air from the top.". He said it was a convict but it don't quite look right to me. It has a little orange in him if the light hits him right. I can tell you he puts on a show when he don't like another fish by him. Flaring his gill plates and puffing out his throat. Any help would be great.

i figured he was it just looks a little differnt than the ones that i have seen in the past. i am assuming it is a male due to behavior. any imputs on that?

yea the fins are a bit nipped up but nothing that wont heal
