Baby Sturgeons

Hi everyone. Well, it was my best friend's birthday and his girlfriend was going to buy him a monster fish. Guess what she got him for his 180 gallon tank, a sturgeon. She didn't know what it was but she thought it was really cool looking and her husband would love it. Anyways, I'm trying to help him out but I've never had any experience with sturgeon. Here are some pictures of him. He's about 5 inches long. What kind is he and what should he feed the sturgeon?

I can't offer any advice but I don't think a sturgeon and parrot have ever shared a tank before in the history of the world. Nice juxtaposition lol.

Now you know that my friend's girlfriend decided what she wanted in the tank so there's many different types of fish and now she has added a sturgeon. Their tank contains aggressive fish but there hasn't been any aggression and all the fish are doing well, just don't know what she's going to do with the sturgeon.

It looks like a Sterlet's Sturgeon (Acipenser Ruthenus)

They are bottom feeders so they will eat just about anything.

what species? Some, like the sterlet only get 3 feet max, but some like the white stergeon get 8 feet and require temperature of 60 and lower, and even some like the atlantic sturgeon reach 15 feet and need salt water

If I'm not mistaken they like cold water. Below 60.

I've kept a young one before for a year in a 150. I had a chiller on the tank to make sure the water stayed cold enough for him. They also like a sand bottom since there mouths can get cut up from the rocks. They are very cool but just aren't great for a tank. They do much better in ponds which is what I ended up doing with mine. It was a friends pond so it worked out great for me so I was still able to see him grow.

Try bloodworms and sinking pellets.It looks kind of thick,like it's been eating pretty good though.
