Hi,
I'm looking for suggestions for stocking a 55 gallon tank that I recently acquired. This is going to be more of a "show" tank since it will be in my living room so I want fish that will look good and not hide all the time. Also, not interested in breeding. I'm leaning toward cichlids but open to suggestions. Keep in mind I live in town without access to a lot of more "rare" fish. Suggestions?

Barred danio! Those are so boss! Monodactylus Sebae those are cool too! But I think they won't fit in a 55.

Go with a colorful community of tetras, roseline barbs, and other colorful stuff!

+1 tetras come in many colors and sizes and always swim around. When you feed them the whole tank goes crazy. If you have kids or grandkids they will love them to. This is my two daughters tank. Yes it is a little overstocked. But that's another story.uploadfromtaptalk1389670953840.jpguploadfromtaptalk1389670986785.jpguploadfromtaptalk1389671029384.jpg

A smaller type cichlid like a firemouth would be nice and you could use a medium schooling fish in there with it like rainbows or giant danios

hello; Here is my 55 in 2010. I used live plants and a somewhat light stocking of small fish.
