My 72 gallon Oceanic bowfront tank randomly sprung a leak at the bottom today. Water was coming up from the tank trim. I just spent 4 hours emptying the tank and moving my fish.

The tank currently has black silicone and I'd prefer to keep it like that. I know about the clear GE stuff but I was wondering if there is a black silicone that is fish safe.

While the tank is empty I would also like to remove a large piece of glass the previous owner siliconed in to cover a hole. Can I just replace it with a bulkhead + end cap so its not as much of an eye sore?

Aqueon Black Silicone you can get it at petco or most pet stores that sell aqueon or online.

Thanks I'll check it out.

It turns out my stand was bowing down in the middle. Though I can't determine if this is what caused the leak I'm definitly going to beef up my stand.

As far as I know you can get either color easily. When i resealed my 225 I got the clear stuff but they also had white and black.

So I've prepped the tank for re sealing and removed the patch of glass.

Here's what I did for the bulkhead plug.

Because this is a bowfront tank there is a significant amount of silicone exposed on the corners of the bow. I was just wondering if this is okay.
