I'm just curious if its possible to keep a red tailed gg in a 125g? I would really like to try keeping one but I'm getting mixed reviews on tank size. Thanks for any help in advance!

no mate they easily exceed 20 inchs and need a 300 gallon minimum. could start one off obviously but it will out grow it pretty soon and look cramped.

Haha okay, it just goes to show that the info on the net isn't always the best!

I will try to see if I have a pic of hers in the tank. The width of theirs is what made the tank look small. I should have a pic lemme check.

I think those pics are of ggg.
Which grow bigger.
I would say the bigger the better but a 6x2.5 foot print would be a good starting size.

My brother used to have 17" rtgg in a 125 and it looked way too small for. He end up giving it away. It was one of the best looking rtgg i've ever seen
