18 years in and im fizzling out. Ive sold all but one tank, my 65g (36"x18"x24"). Only kept that one because my daughter can't live without fluffy (Lesser Siren).
ive also got some Raphael catfish and a brown hoplo she decided to keep. Fluffy has eaten almost all the tetras, mollies and minnows that were in the tank. Im trying to find some 3-6" fish that arent aggressive that will nip fluffys external gills and limbs but the local wholesaler doesn't have anything new. ive looked at my 'already had that' list and nothing that will fit in my tank intrests me. Memphis isn't great for having the best availability for fish. Ive been working 70-80 hr work weeks so haven't had time to keep up with the online community. anyone have any ideas?

Seems like your hobbie was/is buying fish and not the keeping... get one wet pet and grow it till you die, giant gourami or fahaka or mbu puffer. Something personal and interactive, that'll do it... I was where you are and have recently been trying to get out of looping all the lfs at the weekend!

Fascinating list. Mostly small / simple fish then you throw in an electric eel?

What did you do with the eels (electric / fire)? Treat them as disposable?

I'd suggest the same as above, get a large wet pet fish, but only if you are wanting to care for it for life (the next 20 years of your fish keeping).

Get some more colorful shrimp, Yellow Shrimp or Crystal Red Shrimp if you want more of a challenge. They look great and can be a real talking piece with people. I find people more interested in my 20g long than in my 240g (and I am too most of the time). Additionally, going with a planted tank can be a fun thing to do with shrimp as well.

Im not trying to get you to switch to the dark side or anything but if you don't like any of the above suggestions you could always give salt water a shot. At least you'd still be in the hobby instead of completely out and it would be a new challenge.
