Those who buy them always only post them as babies. I wonder if Monster mini still has hers. She post a pic of it as a baby.

This is Mormyrus cashive at 13 inches and 1 lbs (the ruler is a six inch one), but the max recorded was 29 lbs and 39 inches for other methods. http://www.fishing-worldrecords.com/scientificname/Mormyrus caschive/show
This is Gymnarchus niloticus (not a mormyrid, but it is in the same family) at 39 inches and 20 lbs, but the max recorded was 40 lbs 13 oz and 71 inches for other method. But a questionable catch was 176 lbs in Lake No. The common name is Aba Aba knifefish. http://www.fishing-worldrecords.com/scientificname/Gymnarchus niloticus/show

Damn! I've never seen an aba that big. The largest I've seen was about 3ft. Crazy to think that mine is only about 14"

Great pictures

The Mormyrus are in the Mormyridae family

I believe the Gymnarchus niloticus is in the Gymnarchidae family

I still have mine and it is 96.5 cm but not anywhere as heavy as the one in your picture. I bought mine in Feb 2000 at 15.2 cm
