Pressurized Co2 Worth It?

I see lots of people opting out of pressurized co2 and going DIY or using Flourish Excel. I've also seen a lot asking if pressurized co2 is worth the investment? Welp, here's one weeks growth in my 150g:

I changed nothing and added nothing in this one week time-frame except adding pressurized co2.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice! What lighting is that? Think I see a led satellite and some t5's?

With high/med lighting you will need to start dosing fertz (n-p-k & micro) easiest and cheapest way is to buy dry fertz and mix them with water in bottles and dose them wet.

Link for great fertz: http://greenleafaquariums.com/aquarium-fertilizers-supplements/pps-pro-fertilizer-package.html

Dosing: http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/fertilizing/15225-estimative-index-dosing-guide.html

Not sure what you use as a co2 reactor but if you run a canister or sump/wet dry check out rex grigg DIY reactors, they are about 12-15$ to build and have 90%+ co2 dissolution into the water making your co2 more efficient. Ceramic Diffusers aren't exactly the best option for such a big tank!

I recommend getting fertz ASAP because with high/med light and injected co2 your plants are hungry! (Its like having a dog that constantly runs and plays burning lots of calories so replenishing those are important for good growth!) More light more co2 makes plants grow faster thus absorb nutrients (fertz) much faster!

Already dosing ferts and my co2 is being dissolved using a reactor that runs into a powerhead, produces a fine co2 mist with bubbles so small they don't reach the surface. This is my second setup with pressurized co2 but it's certainly my largest tank with co2 to-date. I've been seeing some crazy pearling on all my plants since the co2 went in, I'd say that the hornwort is growing INCHES every 24 hours, literally. Thanks for the info!

EDIT: lighting is with 3 24" Finnex Ray II DS (7000k) and a single bulb T5HO (6700) for extra punch in the middle of the tanks. The water appears a bit yellow/brown in the pics due to some new-ish driftwood in the tank.

Hornwort will eat up a lot of nitrate so make sure there's always a small trace of it.

Wow thanks for the heads-up! I had a small algae problem and knew that hornwort would out-compete algae so that's why I added it. I'll have to keep a watchful eye on it. Thanks.

The pearling going on is ridiculous today! Thinking of adding some more interesting fish to the mix, but not sure what.. Suggestions?
