Clean water and salt at 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons of water. Keep the fish calm and quite.

You don't need anything but clean water and everything should heal. Hospital tanks usually mean small tanks to me.
I recommend doing that.

I wouldve just taken the male out and put him in the hospital tank.

I'm pretty sure the female wouldn't have made a meal out of those fry like the male just did or plans on doing.

A lot of clean water. Goodluck

Thanks aquanero, you've always been a great help when I have issues such as this. I'm already doing your recommendations. I guess time will tell.

Your friend should have a divider in case aggressions arising. I own a new pair of F1 Amphilophus Labiatus that I separated with egg crate divider. He now share space very peacefully with my Male Rio Mag Umbriferum. Wow! It suprized me too.

I placed a divider up when I noticed aggression between the male RD. Here are some pictures. He now shares space with WC Rio Mag Umbie. Had to separate his female and two other males. In process of setting up 150 for them. We will find out if the larger tank helps. Only have them in a 75 gallon. They still have some growing to do. Good luck helping your friend.1391484878422.jpg1391484910521.jpg1391484947980.jpg1391484971449.jpg1391484995558.jpg

I have egg crate dividers that I usually use but they have a batch of fry and are usually fine with one another when they have fry. They were fine last night when I went to bed. I came home from work today to find her in this condition, and it only looks to be getting worse. :(

best bet is to leave her in the big tank and take out the male so it doesn't stress her out. It happened to my flowerhorn pair =_= I took out the female for the hopistal tank and she died due to stress. So just take out the male for the hospital tank and leave the female in the show tank so she can heal up.
