Forgot to put what's in there lol there's cherry shrimp, algae shrimp and green corys 1 pair and 3 babys. I'm gonna upgrade it before to long. I did have a betta in there that's why that tank is set up but I lost him a couple of months ago. I'm thinking about another betta or something small I can grow out for a few months in there

you're gunna need pressurized co2 if you're doing 4 t5ho on a 20 long....I use 4 t5ho on my 75 and I need co2

you're probably going to learn to hate that hornwort too, as I predict it will become one hell of a weed.

If you're running that light and do co2 (you really should), you should then look into nice red plants, as with that level of lighting you should be able to grow anything you want to (you'll need to dose as well, unless you're doing dirted tank)

Oh yeah I've tossed so much hornwort it's not even funny I think it grows like a foot a week lol I put some in the 125 for a while but the fish kept playing in it and making a mess. how does co2 work?
What kind of red plants? dose with what ?and what's a dirted tank? Like dirt for substrate? Sorry for all the ?s

I used organic potting mix in some of my tanks, topped with sand, as substrate.

Dose with ferts...plants need some trace elements and N,P,K to grow well. As for co2, I inject it into my high light tanks as it allows the plants to grow faster and use up the light and nutrients in such a way as to prevent the growth of algae, as excess light is a great way to get algae growing, trust me.

How long has this tank been set up? You may want to look into pressurized co2 and dosing EI or PPS-Pro....I suggest looking at various plant specific forums on the internet tbh.

You know, saying that, and I've been saying it a lot, I'd love to get some of that info on MFK in a better, less archaic way....I'm far from an expert though but I know where the experts dwell, but there should still be some general guidelines on MFK. If only I had time lol

I'm sorry about your Betta :(
Your tank looks really nice, great placement!
~ Consider a small group of Anomalochromis thomasi, 2.5-3 inches, beautiful colors, very peaceful dwarf jewels, won't dig up your substrates and do very well in planted tanks. I'm always surprised more pt folks don't keep these little beauties. Maybe its because when most hear its a jewel, they're reminded of their nasty, but gorgeous cousins. They also do really well with Corys. Maybe not so well with shrimp though!
