Very excited for this spawn, male is synspila "Belize" very lovely, colorful boy. Female is just an average blood parrot with decent color. Will take pics soon as there's more to see than two fish hiding behind rocks/clay pots!

So am I, getting a spawn is one thing, getting viable fry quite another. I won't count it as a success until I see free swimming fry.

Both parents are moving fry from the spawn site to the nest site, looks to be around 300-400...amazing to see the male be so gentle & delicate with newly hatched fry.

I'm going to try and post pics later today, you probably won't see much, the parent's guarding what looks like a pile of grayish muck in the corner, lol! She's a good little mama, and the dad is good too, he so very patiently lets mama run him...mama is fussy when it comes to her babies.

Sorry the pics aren't a little better, the syn is approximately 7 inches, the parrot is approximately 4-4 1/2 inches. The plastic fan grill was their divider, I used it in place of plants as cover for them...they seemed to like it that they could keep an eye on me through it. The parrot was becoming more & more agitated with the syn, so I removed him...the weird thing is he wasn't doing anything, just trying to help her etc. Even though she's much calmer now I don't think I'll leave her with the fry much longer. I don't see the sense in it, the fry are already eating crushed nls fry food, they really don't need mom for that.
