Once in a while in our quest for new fish, tanks, equipment, etc we come across something before our time (some of us, I'm 32 ) that sparks our interest or makes our brain say "I wonder what kind of fish I can keep in that" I am a big fan of "antique" tanks and will eventually do a retro section in my fishroom..

I was really just curious to see what other hobbyists have for old style tanks. Personally I stock MetaFrames and luckily one Bamboo tank/stand combo. Most of which I scored off of craigslist..

Just wondering what y'all got..
Care to share?

My bamboo setup. About 15-17 gal. Housing a breeding pair of axolotl

And by the way. I gotta say I love this site and I love craigslist. I find a LOT of great deals. Sometimes you gotta look a little harder. Just thought I'd throw that out there..

I'm 37 and my dad had metaframes when I was born, every once in a while I search for one since they have nostalgic value to me but never consistently enough to find one worth buying.

One guy I do work on the side for George Goulart, owner of Aqua Life in Providence, RI has a TON of MetaFrames, most in really good condition. I believe he plans on a whole room of his fishroom to be all MetaFrame tanks. It will be really cool to see a whole room set up with them...

Cmon no one else has any Retro tanks?! I was hoping someone would have some Victorian Style tanks!!!

There is an unlimited supply of the antique one of a kind bamboo tanks available here. BTW, they are available brand new. Cheers.

There is a brand besides Metaframe. I don't remember the name. They had glass instead of slate bottoms.

I've never seen the bamboo or the metal frames ones newer than the 70's. I did not know you could get the bamboo ones new. I don't believe you can get new MetaFrame tanks. I've seen a couple with glass bottoms and always thought that the slate was just replaced with glass..

I'd love to see some pics of other MFKers' MetaFrame setups..

The ones I have now are the two 20ish gal pictured wet
8 each 22.5gal footprint of 36"x12"x12"
And a 50 something gal which is dry and not pictured

Plus a bunch of low quality ones that will probably be salvaged for the slate.
