My tank just looks boring I'm new at this I need some ideas on tank set up I'm getting rid of the flower horn because I have a rapid growing 4 inch red Devil in a ten that needs to be put in a bigger tank I know there territorial so I don't know if I should put I'm gravel instead of sand ?

I would start with painting the back of the tank. It looks like it's in a spot that it could be done, pain in the rear, but doable without draining it.

i like sand a lot more, to me it just looks better. only color gravel i really liked was a bright green and it made the whole room light up green. maybe add in some drift wood

i have a piece of black perspex behimd my tank, same effect and easily slid in while in situ, can change the colour when you want aswell...

a piece of drift wood and dark/black sand or gravel will help the colour of the fish pop instaed of them washing out to blend in with light colours around them...
