Is there any chemicals in pine branches that could effect the fish ? If not how do I make it safe for to put in the tank I know of boiling water but it's to long to fit in the pot ?

Literally walk in your woods and look for a smaller tree with a nice thick root sticking up near the base or something that has fallen over or bent, I have most of my luck with these because they make really cool caves. You can also either dig your own tree up or hope to find a dead one. Try near lakes or small ponds they usually have a few smaller trees dead that had trouble taking root. Best of luck either way!
