55 gal sump help

Hey guys, sorry to bother you but I just plumbed in my first ever sump to a 180 gal. I have no leaks on the pipe connections themselves, however on the threaded pieces I used one on the bulkhead and one on the outlet, even though I used a generous amount of plumbers tape on the threads themselves and torqued them tightly, they both have small sweating drips coming from them. Did I do something wrong, is this normal, and is there a way to fix this without having to take the tank completely down. It is in my office and I would rather not have to empty it and redo the whole thing.
