Almost Over Head Sump

So originally I was going to fond a way to suspend this above my tank but that didn't work out so its on an old 29g stand beside my tank, water is pumped in through one side, into the tower, and it flows through the sump and out a single port on the far end. Yes this thing looks pretty gross, but its been running with minimal maintenance for close to 6 months. not once has it been vacuumed. The excessive nitrates and nitrates the debris may be producing is good for my plants since this is for a grow out tank. Dimensions are as follows
Full length: 30in, width: 4.75in and 5.25in tall. the entrance tower that holds floss doesn't hold any water, but it is an additional 4in tall.
