So my 40 breeder is freshly planted, and I was wondering if there was any benefit to a longer light period when it's first getting started?
I have had some algae issues, but that was with almost no plants, now that it's been planted, the algae seems to be slowing down quite a bit...
I haven't gone out and gotten a timer yet, so I turn it on before I leave for work and turn it off sometime after I get home, so we're talking 10-12 hours. And no ambient light when off (I work nights to my windows are blacked out)
Will the extra light help anything or should I just get a timer and cut it to 8 or 9 hours?
