Hey Everyone,

Bad news! When I was gone for the weekend, something happened with my baby Gar (spotted?) and he lost almost the entire top half of his snout and a portion of the bottom as a result. I'm not exactly sure if he had a run in with a tankmate (all juveniles) or the small powerhead I'm running.

Unfortunately, he was in very poor shape and unable to eat so I went ahead and euthanized him. Lesson learned...keep baby gars by themselves and in a low flow tank to be safe.

Maybe to be really safe a no flow tank, but light flow isn't an issue either but I would try to prevent the loss of the gar in any way possible
