Question about Filter pad

So I been rinsing the Filter pad with the tank water to get all the chunks off for a while but now the pad is all messed up. Is it okay to change a new one would it affect my tank or water parameters? Please let me know.

As long as you have plenty of bio media in the filter, changing the pad won't hurt anything.

If your tank is cycled you should have plenty of bacteria in your tank to reseed your filter pad pretty quickly.

if your sketch about it you can just put another pad on top of the existing pad for a week and then throw away the old pad. by this time the bacteria will have colonized the new pad.
