How are you distinguishing the males from females?
Although mine are very young, I have some predominantly brown, with an indistinct band, and some individuals with a darker, more distinctive horizontal band, and wondering if this a gender/sexual dimorphic difference?

Nice Duane! I have 13 small ones and 2 (male/female) about 3.5" long. Hoping to get the bigger ones to pair off.

Well the little ones are not sexable yet but the bigger ones I can see the black bar in the dorsal of the female. She's a lot slower growing than the male. I picked up the additional six as I'm thinking once these are gone who knows when they'd be available again? The ones on the market are the first juvies I've seen for sale in like 20 years!

Very Nice Duanes! Are there needs any different? Where did you get them from?

I got them from Wet Spot, and they are still on their list.
All Theraps seem to need heavy current, so I have them growing out in a 45 gal that has about 500 gph flow thru to the sump, and a powerhead with venturi for extra movement.
