midway through my aquascape, looking for advice and critiques~~

Just finished the second phase of this scape. Im planning on covering the hill in dwarf hair grass, or something along those lines. I also want to add java moss on the trees branches, and all along the rocks.

Problem is, im new to underwater plants and dont have the knowledge base to make the best decisions plantwise. Any advice? I want some sort of eye catching plant around the tree, but im not sure what just yet. I have seen a red colored plant that hangs low to the ground in several scapes, but i dont know the name of it.

The tank presently houses two 8" bichir like the one pictured, an 11" rope fish, a 2" syndontis, a 3" raphael cat, an an oddball cichlid from a past tank.

Any advice would be very helpful.
